growing wine since 2014

Green vineyard rows under a blue sky.

Our Vineyard

Our vineyard is approximately 5 acres.   We grow Itasca and Frontenac Blanc grapes for white wine and Marquette and Crimson Pearl for red wine.  We also have La Crescent vines which should be producing fruit for wine in two years.

We are also growing apples rhubarb, and pears for future fruit (non-grape) wines.

Grapes Grown Here:

Itasca

Marquette

Marquette

A new variety developed by the University of MN.  We are excited about this grape because it has potential for making a very good dry white.

Marquette

Marquette

This is another U of MN variety that makes a nice rose and also a dry/semi-dry red wine.

Crimson Pearl

Frontenac Blanc

Frontenac Blanc

This is our newest planting.  Looking forward to making an excellent red wine from them in 2022.

Frontenac Blanc

Frontenac Blanc

Frontenac Blanc

This is one of our favorites for an aromatic semi-sweet white wine.

Spring

All pruning is typically completed by April. As soon as the snow is gone, we start preparing (fertilizer, weed removal) for the growing season.

Summer

Spring

Spring

Fuit is set by summer.  Then we focus on nurturing the vines and protecting them from pests to ensure the grapes ripen properly.

Fall

When the sugar levels and pH tell us the grapes are ready,  we harvest.  Thankful for our amazing volunteers that help us pick each year!
